Shop.nickjr.com is one of
my favorite websites because my daughter loves Blue’s Clues. For
those who have not experienced the joy of this show, it is a
children's show about a dog named Blue that features live action
people superimposed on cartoons. The show follows Blue through her
regular everyday life and weaves in educational entertainment,
interaction and finding “clues” for children to figure something
out. Clues are drawn into the “handy-dandy notebook by either Steve
or his younger brother Joe. My daughter likes Joe as the host better
than his older brother Steve who was the original primary live
action human character on the show.
Her favorites episodes
are Blue’s Biggest Stories and the movie Blue's Big Musical.
In the wonderful movie that I have watched hundreds of times, a
music show is planned. Blue and Tickety (the alarm clock) want to
sing a duet together in the show about being teachers, but Tickety
loses her voice and decides to ring her bells instead. Blue needs to
find another singing partner for the duet. Side Table Drawer wants
to sing in the music show and be Blue’s duet partner, but she is too
shy to ask. The other characters such as Periwinkle, Slippery,
Mailbox, Salt and Pepper, Paprika and Cinnamon, Shovel and Pail and
others all have their own issues and mini-crisis as they prepare for
the musical show, but in the end, all works out for everyone and a
few lessons are learned.
