After more
than a decade of 9 to 5 job, I decided to call it quits. My initial
enthusiasm of climbing the corporate ladder was on the wane and more
importantly I had a daughter to look after. The long hours and the
pressures of an office job along with raising my child were
beginning to have its toll on me. I’d rather be home for the little
one although I had not totally resigned to the thought of giving up
work completely. I was thinking more on the lines of working from
home or a home office. And as I spent more time on the thought, I
became clearer that this was what I wanted to do.
So I began
to work toward it. It was a huge task. I needed a whole lot of
things in place and no it was not just the paper work. For starters,
I needed to upgrade my laptop. I needed a printer, a fax, a
photocopier, stationery, letterheads, brochures and the list goes
on…
With so
many requirements, I was desperate for some good discount coupons.
And I found them at Coupon-B.com. The site offered great discounts
for office supplies of different merchants such as
Tech Depot,
Office Max, and
Office Depot.
I picked
up coupons for the merchandise I intended to buy and proceeded to
scan through the websites. I was really impressed with all these
office supplies websites. They were comprehensive and catered to
almost all aspects of office needs. Apart from the regular office
materials, Office Depot also provides special services like logo
design. They have tied up with Logo Works to provide customers like
me (who are just starting up) design services for logos, stationery,
and websites. Now isn’t that neat? This is what I would call going
the extra mile to pre-empt customer needs.
So I
decided to stick to
Office Depot for most of my purchases. Quite
obviously, I let them take care of designing my logo and stationery.
The website - I was going to stall till another time. Till then, I
browsed the site for lucrative deals on other fronts of my new
office, or should we say home office?
I found a
good discount against a coupon on an Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 / 2.33
GHz Processor (mobile). I also got a good deal on an HP Officejet
5610 Color Flatbed All-In-One machine. It was a printer, scanner,
copier, and a fax machine all rolled into one. This was what I
called a smart buy.
